Claymore 18Jul 05, 2011
By milly3cat If you like this series then issue 18 is for you.
Characters like Alicia, Beth and Ritful of the West, all are major players and their final fates are learnt in this issue.
Clare, Raki and the seven ghost all have major stories to tell.
It is good to see story move at a faster pace than earlier issues.
A great comic for a cheap price. 5 stars from me.

FillerDec 11, 2011
By Kate The previous volume was OK with moving the plot along. In volume 18, however, most of it appears to be filler until the very end. The plot increasingly seems to get lost in favor of battles with creepier and creepier monsters. The main cast keeps getting bigger and bigger and it's difficult to keep track of who's who. I could also do with less blatant explanations of what's going on, but this is not as bad in Claymore as it is in other manga.

Claire finally meets her nemesisJun 27, 2011
By Lyle Eckert
"It's not that I am lazy; It's that I just don't care."
In this volume, Claire and two of her buddies finally meet her nemesis. There is a little bit of sword play between the two, but not much really happens in this novel between the two. The rest of the story arc is interesting, and I really liked this one, but I thought both 16 and 17 were better. Anyway if you picked this up without reading any of the previous books, you would be completely lost. Also though I watched the anime before reading 1-11 (which were the books the anime was based on) I would have been pretty lost without actually reading 11-18, there is a major change from 11 and the anime.
