Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden is about a girl named Takiko who is transported to Ancient China through a book called the Universe of the Four Gods. This is a prequel to Fushigi Yugi The Mysterious Play. I love Yuu watase's work. She has this ability to bring you in, and make you feel as if you are actually inside the story. This series is my favorite, and I can't wait for more. My only complaint is that its taken so long to get volumes out. Volume 5 came out in Nov 2006, volume 6 came out in Jan 2008, and now we have to wait til Nov 2008 for volume 7? That is insane. I do have to say that perhaps Uruki and Takiko won't be able to be together in the end. The reason I say this is because in the Fushigi Yugi Manga, it says that no priestess has ever been able to be with the celestial warrior that she loves.

The story is great and the love story is very touching. I can feel their deep love and yearning toward each other and I am happy and cry with them all through their journey. I hope that all will end well. I wonder why it takes so much time between volumes.
