Kenjiro Hata, Hayate the Combat Butler vol. 2 (ViZ, 2005)
Hayate doesn't really seem like it's going anywhere characterwise in this second volume; more amusing-yet-slightly-disturbing episodes as Hayate gets himself settled into life in the mansion, with its whacked-out cast of inhabitants. It's not a bad little manga, but I've been spoiled by my recent reading, I guess; I want some better-etched characters than I've got here. I'll give it a few more volumes and see if it improves any. ***
