5the bestOct 15, 2009
This Inuyasha movie was by far the best out of the first four Inuyasha movies. This movie and Inuyasha movie 2 where the only ones that had the drama of the love between Kagome and Inuyasha.

5The answer to the most important question of all...Jan 08, 2009
Ok, first things first. YES, it is an English dub -_^
Second, YES, there is a difference between the artwork in the series and in the movie, but it's very slight. Personally I think it's sad that the illustrators were persuaded to even consider altering their beautiful style, as I think the artwork in the series is some of the best I've ever seen, but the few differences I perceived did not detract from my enjoyment of the movie in any way. So that's alright.
I'm sure others have already given a plot summary, so I won't bother, but I will say that if you enjoy the series you'll enjoy this movie. If you're unfamiliar with the series I suggest you watch those first. I think anyone unfamiliar with the series would still be able to follow the general plot, but would miss many of the nuances of the interaction between the characters and the history of some of the running jokes.
Definitely a recommended purchase for all you Inuyasha fans out there! XD

4This was a pretty good filmJun 11, 2008
Affections Touching Across Time is the first of four movies released for the Inuyasha franchise. In the film, Inuyasha, Kagome, and their friends must defeat Menomaru, the reawakened son of Hyoga (a powerful moth yokai that Inuyasha's father had defeated two hundred years earlier).

The animation in the film is a little different than the anime series, because the character designs in the film more closely resemble the characters' manga counterparts. There is also some use of computer animation in the movie. Unfortunately, the CG that was used stands out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the film. However, the CG really needed to be used where it was (the shots of the Tree of Ages), because 2D animation would have been more limiting for what the filmmakers were trying to portray.

There are some bonus features on the DVD. While I was happy to see that the original Japanese trailers for the film were included, I was disappointed that English subtitles weren't included; without the English subtitles, the Japanese trailers were rather awkward for me to watch. There are also some character line art sketches included in the extras. There is also a 35-minute piece that appears to be a promotional piece that aired on Japanese television before the release of the film, which recaps what happened in the Inuyasha television series prior to the film.

Overall, I thought the film was rather well-done. Clock in at 100 minutes, it was just the right length to tell the story that the filmmakers wanted to tell. This DVD is a definite "must-have" for any Inuyasha fan.

pretty decent movie. if you have seen the series or any of the other movies this isn't the best out of all of them in my opinion but still really good.
