3Love*Com is my favorite manga, but this volume...Oct 28, 2009
By C. Clutterbuck
... is not the best.
Conflict arrives in the form of Risa's grandfather, who thinks Otani is unworthy and too short. So he tries to break them up.
This manga overall avoids cliched plot lines, coming up with creative misunderstandings to keep their relationship interesting. Of course, new characters are always appearing to shake things up. But the grandpa is, well, weird.
He's a weird character and I honestly find him obnoxious. The manga gets a little crazier, with frequent outbursts from a worried Risa and this random plot line about the grandpa hiring a hooker for Otani. Weird.
I suggest reading through the manga (skimming, as I did) because we all know they eventually get over it. I read it online instead of buying it, which is the same thing I did for the book in which Maity appears (again, an obnoxious character, in my opinion).
So if you don't mind characters thrown in specifically for ridiculous drama, then read it. It's Love*Com, so you might not be disappointed. But if you thought characters like Maity were annoying, then I suggest skipping this volume.

I still love Lovely Complex. I suggest the 15th volume. Lots of hilarity between Risa and Otani, possibly taking their relationship to the next level.

But for this volume, three out of five.

5Otani Cheating?!Sep 06, 2009
By manga girl 101
In this volume, Otani has been spending an awful lot of time with a mysterious woman named Hitomi, and after blowing off a date with Risa, and leaving his phone off so she can't reach him, she goes crazy with jealousy and suspicion, thinking that her grandfather (who already dislikes her height-challenged boyfriend) paid Hitomi to distract Otani. After lots of twists and turns including a crazy girl named Ai, a mafia, and Risa's grandfather finally accepting Otani (sort of) they get everything resolved.

But Haruka is still set on marrying Risa, and while she and Otani are out, Haruka's squad of girlfriends kidnap Otani in an attempt to bring Risa and Haruka together. But Risa and Haruka realize what's up, and Risa finds Otani while Haruka makes up with his girlfriends and supposedly gives up on his feelings for Risa.

This volume was cute and very funny, and you get to see a different side of Haruka. You should read this one if you haven't yet.
