Emotionally intense and depressing romance seriesFeb 25, 2010
By M. Bonds I am surprised to see the quality of work put into this anime. What started out as a semi-enjoyable, yet annoying, romance, has become one of the most realistic anime I have ever seen. This DVD set features new twists and turns as Nana/Hachi, Takumi, and Nobu enter a complicated love triangle. Nana O. begins to show weakness as the world around here is becoming too stressful and emotionally taxing. When both Nanas meet again after a short while apart things take a turn for the worst and their friendship is put to the test. Being male I found myself surprised how well I could relate to the 2 female leads of this series.
The level of quality in the English dubbing, art, animation, and music also increase which leads to a near perfect release.
The main downside to this DVD set is VIZ's steep price for a set with only a few episodes and no extras. Those interested in buying may want to look for this used or on clearance.
I can't recommend NANA enough for all fans of realistic anime.

absolutly the bestDec 26, 2010
By amazonotaku Hay boys and girls it's time for another review that only the amazonotaku can give. Nana there is little that I can say without giving away the story but we see love, loss, hate, regret, a big old sissy boy that we want to win, and of course drug use. The story follows the manga pretty close and there is no difference in art. Awesome music by a fantastic band with there names in the show and of course a big old sissy boy we are all rooting for. This one is my second fav. Only for the ending with the big old sissy boy. If that statement is getting old to you... me too. Any how awesome show a must buy. Parents there is nudity and sex in the show it's rated TVMA for a reason not a great christmas gift to watch with grammy.
To the otaku's of the world live loud let people know you are an otaku remember anime is tthe hardest form of entertainment more so then multi million doller movies or cop dramas. Live out loud ya'll
