4Real Good!Apr 02, 2011
By VanesslovesGackt
First off, I'm glad its not like the other Naruto games. If you have play the Naruto games you just basically fight one on one, and after a while if you have no-one to play with it gets boring. =6 In this game Naruto goes on adventure, yes, you actually get to play Naruto and control what he does and run around different places. Not in the same circle arena.

The game does involve you fighting Dragons, they are the Bosses, and in the end you fight another Boss that is not a dragon. The monster are in fact monsters. They are like Zombie type, but hey don't judge. lol You play Naruto and Sasuke. Well, personally think the Japanese version of this game is way better, only because i really dislike the whole series in English, I don't care for a lot of the voices and to top it off, they make it for kids in the English version. Anyways not to get off topic, Naruto carries a sward and as you kill the dragons you get different elements that change the sward's color and later would be useful in the game. Naruto learns different moves and you collect the scrolls for moves. He learns: Fire, Rasengan, Rasen-shuriken, Rock, Ice, Shadow clone, and Multi-shadow clone, etc.(More moves just dont want to list all).

All-in-All try the game and don't judge a book buy its cover. I would recommend this game to Naruto fans and if Judge this game by its cover, then you are not a true Naruto fan. Rent, barrow it, Steal it (No Don't Steal It I Was Just Kidding) Just play it then Judge it.

The End =3

2Fighting With A Dull BladeDec 24, 2010
By Elias L. Blondeau "Atlanta Fried Otaku and Hardened Brony"
I've always had a love/hate relationship with the Naruto franchise. The plucky, jumpsuit-clad ninja has dragged me through
more anime episodes and manga chapters than I care to admit, has made me spend my hard-earned cash on more pieces of merchandise
than I want to remember, and driven me through several games of varying degrees of quality. There always comes a period,
though, where a bad game or horrid story arc makes me fall out for a few months, if not a year. Unfortunately, Dragon Blade
Chronicles now serves as a catalyst for my growing disinterest in the franchise. Naruto faithful be warned, because this may
be one of the worst parts of the franchise you ever spend money on.

Story: C+

A villain who wants to destroy the world. His younger sibling who wants to stop him. Naruto being told to kill, but not doing
so because he sympathizes with said villain. We've seen this before, and it now feels like a cold dish of ramen instead of
just a dish of leftovers. Every character is predictable, except for one group: the Akatsuki. Now cheerful and buddy-buddy,
every ounce of menace and evil in them has been drained for the purpose of telling this mediocre story. Even Sasuke now
just seems like a lovable grouch instead of the psycho he's become in the anime and manga. I know this is a side-story,
but it sure as heck wouldn't hurt for the characters to at least be themselves. These characters have become like
family to me over the years, but this feels like some "Twilight Zone"-esque alternate universe where the characters are
empty husks of themselves. And to top it all off, there's a groan-inducing explanation for why Naruto and the gang can't just
use their powers to overcome the antagonist.

Gameplay: C+

Remember the awkward camera angles that plagued PS1 and early PS2 games? The lifeless controls? The awkward jumps that don't
get you exactly where you want to go? Yeah, it's that bad, if not a little worse. Even when running at full-tilt, Naruto
controls like a limp noodle. To make matters worse, the game lags brutally when there are more than a few enemies on the
screen. It often feels like a Bullet Time sequence in "Max Payne", but it's supposed to be quick-paced ninja action. This
was obviously a rush job. And for those fans thinking it would be cool if Naruto used a sword: trust me, it's not. It's
a mark of shame on the character's resume, and another reason Masashi Kishimoto should be in charge of stories that aren't
canon.

Graphics: D+

I'm trying to be nice, but there's no beating around the bush: aside from the beautiful opening cutscene (done by Naruto's
Studio Pierrot), these are some of the most pathetic graphics I've seen in ANY game, making most other Wii games look beautiful
by comparison. Characters only look OKAY up close, and even then, they look stiffer than the animation cels in a filler episode
of "Dragon Ball Z." But the real horror begins when the camera backs up a foot or two in-game, and the characters begin to
morph into terrifying messes of pixels that move with all the energy of a zombie. Even cool-looking armor for the characters
can't save this pathetic attempt at rendering these characters. Oh, and as an aside, the backdrops look like a kindergartener's
attempt at using watercolors with their fingers.

Sound: C+

The voice-acting is uncharacteristically awful, even if you're a die-hard fan of the English dub. Not that I can blame them;
the dialogue is pathetic at best, and will often have you skipping cutscenes to progress to more of the mediocre game. The
only moderately decent part of this game is the music, which is full of upbeat synths and pop-rock guitars. It's often the
only thing keeping you in a good mood for the duration of this crap.

Overall: C-

How this got released in it's current state, I'll never know. This game is a harsh reminder that companies will put out anything
to sate fans of a franchise, and reminds me of the early Dragon Ball games, except quite a bit worse. If you truly love Naruto,
you can do so much better, even on the Wii. As somebody who's been following Naruto since he was a kid, take it from me: pass
on this sorry excuse for a game, and find something better to play.

3a wii game for my younger cousinsDec 17, 2011

SPOILER ALERT!

This Wii game is nothing like the other 3 Naruto games for the Wii. It is an actual game! You play Naruto mostly, but then you play Saske a few times. As Naruto, you use your weapon (the Dragon Blade) and then you can use different ninjutsu. You must also remember the elemental wheel. What element eliminates what element (Fire kills Wind, Wind kills Lightning, Lightning kills Earth, Earth kills Water, and Water kills Fire). You will need this when you are faced with the 5 elemental dragons (one for each element). In the game, these dragons are called Genryus. As Saske, you have different ninjustu and you have no dragon blade, but a sword, Saske's sword. In the game you collect differnt ninjusus and scrolls with even more abilities.

As Saske, you are searching for Itatchi. Let me back up for a moment. There are three groups here at Mount Koryu: Leaf Ninja, Hebi, and Akatsuki. The leaf are here to stop Kuroma, the man who is unleashing the Genryus and forming the "Light Dragon" so he can destroy the entire world. You play Naruto only, no other leaf ninja. Most of the time, you get one leaf member to back you up as "support", but be careful, sometimes you are alone.
Also, that support may not be the best. Sakura helps out by healing your wounds (she never fights). The members of the Leaf are Naruto, Sakura, Kakshi, Rock Lee, Neji, Yamato (called by his real name Tenzo by Kakashi), Sai, and Shikamaru. (Shikamaru and Neji are the weakest supports in my opinion.) At the begining you get to see Lady Tsunade and Jiraiya, but they do not go to the mountain. The Atatsuki members (Tobi, Itatchi, Kisame, and Deidara) are here looking for power. And Hebi (Saske's group, formed after Saske killed Orochimaru in the series) are here to get Itatchi, what else? And guess what? Saske does face off with Itachi! And you play Saske when it happens! Of course, after Itachi, you face Kisame. Then fall down a large hole. This is the last time you play as Saske. After this battle, you remain as Naruto.

The game is easy to beat. Took me two and a half days, possible 8 hours total. I do not like that there are no more save spots once you defeat Kisame as Saske. There is too much going on afterwards and no save points. See, in the game you do not choose when to save, you must come to a save point in the game in order to save your data. So, once you fall down the hole with Kisame (playing as Saske) be sure to save, because you will not get another chance. Oh, and when you face Kuroma, as Naruto, Saske lands in the middle of your battle with Kisame. The two of you (Naruto and Saske) fight not only Kuroma, but each other! (Kisame runs away.) Shadow Clones help out! My shadow clones last night went straight for Saske, leaving me open to face Kuroma alone. After Kuroma, you face the Nine Tailed Fox inside you. This was interesting. Afterwards, you face your last opponent, the Light Dragon. Watch out for the color switch. Each element has a different color. Match the color of the light dragon to your dragon blade orb. (In the game, you get Orbs to put in your dragion blade. Each orb represents a different element. You only get to use one of the five orbs at a time.) Hint in this part. Do not attack the dragon chest or head. Attack the wings and keep at it. I must have fought this dragon for an hour last night.

Once defeated, the dragon disappears and the game is won. The Akatski and Hebi are no longer a threat either (once Kisame and Saske leave the battle with Kuroma, you do not see/hear from them again), but the mountain is crumbling! RUN FOR IT! As naruto, you get one last attack in. You must save everyone from the leaf, including two new friends, by using a justu that is one of a kind. Attack the door and save the day!

All in all, the game was fun. I really injoyed it and you can save up to 3 story modes! I feel it was too short. Some areas were very difficult to get through (the hall leading to the light dragon at the end I skipped by running for my life!) and others were easy. The versus mode requires two players. I wish it did not. I wish I could choose to fight the computer as either Saske or Naruto. (This game does not allow you to play any other character except Naruto or Saske! Ever!) Since I live alone (I'm a single young adult), the versus mode is usless to me. Also, the tutorial partion at the begining needs to be better. They said "hit your action button" and I thought my A button was my action button. Oops! The "action" buttion is on the nunchuck, button C. Make sure you check the instruction manual for other button controls. Also, I never got to see Sai fight. Yamoto used his wood style to help, Sakura her healing abilities, Neji his eyes for the dark areas (some areas will be so dark, you can not see distant enemies), Shikamaru helped with paper bombs, Kakashi with his sharingan eye and chidori, Rock Lee with his leaf hurricane. The only thing Sai did was observe Saske and reported to Kakashi (who would be standing next to Naruto) what Saske and his group were doing. Tobi never fought either. He only placed land mines for Deidara which was a hassel to get through when playing Saske. (Saske fights Deidara as one of the big battle scenes he has in the game.)

I hope my information was helpful. I am not the biggest Naruto fan, but I do keep up with the TV series, I watch the subbed episodes online. I do not read the Manga. I'll definately play this game again and try to see if I can open up some secret areas in the game. I recall the doorways being blocked. Later I realiazed that as Naruto, I can use the dragon blade to open those doorways. Oh well. Lesson learned for next time! I'm glad the nine tails makes an appearance too! It would not be a true Naruto game without the Nine Tailed Fox!

2boring and predictableJul 05, 2011

I bought this game thinking it would have a rich storyline like the cartoon and involve challenging gameplay. I defeated the game on the hardest difficulty setting with no problem. Game is short and linear. A big dissapointment.
