Supernova ExplosionJun 07, 2010
By Jason Talley
"Hard Travelin' Geek"
This is a very action-packed volume as the Eleven Supernovas take center stage and show why they're the rising stars of the the pirate world. The are beatdowns aplenty and each of the Supernovas has their moment. While the OP world is one already dripping in interesting characters it's hard to walk away from this issue without feeling that some very important new players have arrived on the scene.
Action aside we do get a few quite moments and Luffy gets one where his refusal to take any shortcuts to becoming the Pirate King really makes his character shine.
The only downside here is that it seems like there's just a bit too much action and not enough solid story. But that's a minor issue. Overall this is a very good volume of the series and well worth the cover price.
