Kudos to VizApr 05, 2006
By Simon I know not everyone is pleased with Viz's One Piece translating efforts, but I'm very happy that they've stayed true to the original story and not caved in to random and pointless edits like the 4Kids tv version. Nami's full backstory is in this volume, and it's the most powerful and emotional moment in the series thus far. This (and volume 10) are where One Piece make the transition from good to great.
A strong recommendation, hope Viz starts putting out volumes faster.

Best book in the One Piece series...May 03, 2011
By Ashley ive read this book so much that the cover and pages are starting to fall off...ive had to tape it endlessly! anyways, its horribly sad and lets you see the softer, more emotional part of the one piece manga and tells one of the best past stories of any character, this book is one of the only books ive ever read thats made me cry...they gave it a good title...tears.

Great manga, great story.Oct 01, 2010
By ccmgee This is a book from the manga series One Piece, about a boy who sets off on his dream of becoming King of the Pirates. Although in the first three books I wasn't too impressed with the art but in this book we really seem to get into the flow of things and a little bit more creative, particularly with the Fish-men drawings. From a story standpoint this book is when the series really starts to get interesting with Nami turning out to be a good guy after all. A truly funny/ comedic series.
Pandaman is easy to find in this book while not so much in some of the others. I was disappointed to find out that Zoro is called Zolo but I got used to it after a while.
A really good story for people 8 and up. (there is a little violence but no language)

Truly Gripping and EmotionalSep 08, 2007

This is the volume of One Piece that sets it apart from all other manga on the market. One Piece brings an intense amount of emotion into it's stories, and this is by far the most gripping. Nami's past is one you will never forget when your done reading it. These essences of emotion are shown all throughout One Piece and they bring make you truly connect with the characters, which is something many manga fail at doing. If you are in doubt about starting to read One Piece, this volume will truly make you change your mind.

It...was awsome!!!!!Belleme`re was a brave women. That let's me know that women can be brave, too! And,Nami didn't join Arlong's crew for money, she joined him for love of Belleme`re!!That makes me all warm and fuzzy(Not really, though.)!And,when Sanji says something to a girl, what's up with the heart!!?Oh well.Old happit,I guess.
