Great to see these books back in print, but censorship ruins itOct 02, 2009 I've been a fan of this manga since its first (and incomplete) print run several years back, and already own all the volumes from that printing. On a whim, I browsed through this book at the bookstore to see what it was like compared to the volumes I already own...and was stunned to find censorship. In the first print run of Volume Three (then subtitled "Saffron City Siege"), there is a scene, left intact, where Blue (known as "Green" in this translation) reveals that she was hiding Pokeballs on her chest. In this edition, the scene has been censored. If the manga in its original form was good enough for fans several years ago, why isn't it now? It's a small thing, admittedly, and I'm surprised they'd cut that while leaving all the violence in and slapping an "All Ages" rating upon this, but...if you want this manga in its complete form, look for a copy from the original print run, not this reprint.
If you don't care about the censorship, this series is a great read and highly recommended (especially for older Pokemon fans), and it's great to see it back in stores again - even if parts have been deemed unsuitable by the powers that be.
