Description:

Tsunayoshi Sawada (Tsuna for short) is a cowardly junior high student who doesn't excel at academics or sports. He only attends school so he can stare at his beautiful classmate Kyoko from afar.

But Tsuna's life takes a dramatic turn when Reborn, a suit-wearing, gun-toting baby who claims to be an Italian hit man, shows up at his house. Reborn was sent to Japan to groom Tsuna for his future life as a big Mafia boss.

Tsuna doesn't believe this absurd story, so Reborn shoots Tsuna in the head with his gun. As Tsuna faces his own death, he's filled with regret that he never confessed his feelings to Kyoko...and suddenly he's overcome with supernatural powers that allow him to run off screaming to tell Kyoko how much he loves her. After five minutes, Tsuna goes back to normal.

Reborn explains how his gun works: when he shoots a person in the head, if that person has regrets about her life, then she will die and be reborn, temporarily endowed with special powers that enable her to fix or solve whatever is the source of her regret. (If Reborn shoots someone who is free of regret, she would die.)

Tsuna becomes Reborn's disciple, and because Reborn shoots Tsuna in the head all the time, he is constantly being reborn and growing into a stronger and better person, gradually impressing those around him and making friends.

5An Amazing Manga Worth Reading!!Jan 25, 2010
If you've never read Reborn! (which I'm guessing you haven't if you're reading this), a small synopsis of the main storyline is that a boy named Tsunayoshi Sawada (nicknamed "No-Good Tsuna" by his classmates) only has dreams of being with the girl he has a major crush on, Kyoko. But due to his blaring unpopularity, he never tells her how he feels and ends up admiring her from afar. One day a strange baby named Reborn wanders into his life claiming to be one of the Mafia's top hitmen with an assignment to train Tsuna to become the next Mafia Boss Leader! Though he is extremely unmotivated, he goes along with Reborn's antics and soon makes friends who join his new Mafia family.

I HIGHLY recommend picking this story up and giving it a good try! After reading the first volume, this series easily became one of my top three favorite manga storylines of all time! Granted, it takes a bit to get to the first major plot point (roughly 8 volumes), but please don't let that stop you from trying it! Another thing I love about this series is that the fillers are the most hilarious and entertaining things you'll ever read! So while the first several volumes have an air of "filler" around them, they are very important for introducing the massive amount of well-developed characters into the story.

Five stars from me because there isn't a single character in the story (good or evil) that I don't love and Akira Amano's stunning artwork and storytelling is absolutely captivating! Everyone has beautiful and amazing backgrounds that help to push the plot forward. Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is slowly turning into a very popular manga and it completely deserves it!

4Unique, funny, and great for any manga fan. Jul 23, 2008
Reborn! is a very unique series. SJ advanced homes many unique titles but this one has this one has the right amount of action and comedy mixed with a nice story to be one of the best. This review is coming from a girl who's manga collection consists of shojo manga so it takes a good action manga to get me read it and this is good.
All the characters are lovable and well defined. The main character is easy to identify with too. Not many stereotypes which is always a plus.
The art is a nice shonen style that has cute babies(dont worry. he has a gun) and beautiful girls so it doesnt fall short at all. The only reason I dont give it a 5/5 is because it doesnt really pick up until after volume 3. But it's worth it.
