Skip Beat! Always a winnerNov 02, 2009 Every volume is hilarious, and entertaining. This one was no exception. I can't complain! I adore Kyoko. She's such a refreshing female lead!
funSep 19, 2009 Though I may be an "adult" on paper, this book is so much fun that I feel a bit like a giggly school girl. Each volume takes about 40 minutes to read through so it's a quick guilty pleasure.

I'm Running Out of Synonyms for "Amazing" Here...Jul 07, 2008 Volume 13 of "Skip Beat" starts out with Ren's acting test. He needs to improvise the scene to get his character across, and the director agrees to this... but his co-star, Itsumi, isn't so happy about it. Ren says that he'll "make her" act the way he needs her to, but she gets insulted. Itsumi tries to throw Ren off with her acting as revenge. Nakamura-sensei wrote in her author notes that many of her fans hated this part because there was little Kyoko/Ren interaction, but I enjoyed it a lot. It was fascinating to see Ren interpretted Katsuki's character, and how he influenced Itsumi's acting. It was really a battle between the two characters, and it was interesting to see how they played off of each other.
The second part of the manga focuses on Ren and Kyoko's relationship again. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but Kyoko attempts to cheer Ren up, and it's really sweet. We're also tortured with more hints about Ren's past, but we still don't learn much. It made me want to scream "What the hell did he DO, exactly?!" Really, it makes me so impatient for volume 14.
The Tsukigomori arc concludes in this volume. I thought it was just the right length, although I would have liked to have seem a little more of Kyoko's acting. Still, it was a great volume, and you can't miss it if you've already come this far.
