Good quality graphics in full colorJan 10, 2009
By aquamarine As with Volume 1 of The Complete Pokemon Pocket Guide, the quality of the graphics found in Volume 2 is excellent. Each page shows a different pokemon in full color. I love the fact that practically all the pokemon are depicted in different angles so you can get an idea of what a pokemon looks like when viewed from the front, back or side. On each page you can find the Pokemon Data (type, abilities, height & weight), National Pokedex Number of the Pokemon, brief description of the Pokemon and its Special Moves. The evolution process of the pokemon is shown at the bottom of the page. An aphabetical index of all the pokemon can be found at the end of the book. If you have purchased Volume 1 and loved it, buy Volume 2 to "complete your collection". If you have purchased neither volumes, buy both and enjoy the lovely graphics.

Second of two volumesJan 20, 2010
By Lesley Aeschliman The first volume of Pokemon: The Complete Pokemon Pocket Guide covers Pokemon #246 to #491 (Larvitar to Darkrai). This book opens with an introductory page that explains how to use the book and says that the book is one volume in a set. In these books, the Pokemon are listed in numerical order. The information included for all the Pokemon are its name, its species, its type, its abilities, its height, its weight, a description, its special moves, and its evolutions. There is also a picture of the Pokemon in its entry.
I bought this book for my son for his birthday. He likes the book, but his major complaint is that, even though this is labeled as being a "pocket guide," it doesn't actually fit into a pocket. I have to agree with him. While the book is smaller in size than the regular handbooks, it is still too big to fit into anyone's pocket.
Even though the Pokemon in the book are arranged in numerical order, there is an index in the back of the book listing the Pokemon in alphabetical order. By using this index, you'll be able to locate where a Pokemon is in the book if you don't know what its number is.
Overall, this guide has good information, but it's very similar to other Pokemon handbooks that have already been released. Specifically, it's very similar to the Pokemon Ultimate Handbook.
I would recommend these books to a Pokemon fan, even if they already have the Pokemon Ultimate Handbook. While the information contained in these books are split into two volumes, these books are still smaller and a little more portable than the Pokemon Ultimate Handbook. Like with most of the other Pokemon handbooks that have been released, these are just as useful to adults as they are to children.
I wrote this review after looking through copies of these books that my husband and I bought our son for his birthday.
Great ReferenceJul 09, 2011
By Kalo These little books are great if you're a dork like me and you draw Pokemon a lot. Each Pokemon is shown in several poses so that you can see it at all angles. Which is HARD to find in one hard copy source. Most official books like these only have one pose per Pokemon. These books are nice and small so its easy to carry around to conventions where I use them drawing commissions. I used to only have the first volume of these, but I had so many kids wanting the newer generation Pokemon that I needed this one too. These books are not extensive guides for playing the games. For instance, they show the evolutions, but don't say how or at what level the Pokemon evolves, the stats are not extensively described, etc. For that you'll need another book or Bulbapedia. I recommend this book something for your younger poke-fans or as a nice image reference, but it wouldn't help the hardcore poke-gamer hungry for stats.
Great Reference!Feb 13, 2011
By Clara I bought this guide for a friend so she could have both volumes, having found one volume while back. At first glance, it seems like all the Pokemon were in one, but then we realized there were two volumes. We purchased this book so we could have them on the go, so we could draw fan art. We love how there are different angles and views of the Pokemon, perfect for when we draw!
content good, product fairAug 29, 2010
By Marcia T. Great content, my son loves the ease of looking up each of the characters, but the quality of the book itself is very poor. The pages of the book came unglued in sections from the spine after looking at the the book just one or two times. The individual pages haven's started falling out yet, but it's just a matter of time. We were going to order another guiude, but I'm not so sure now.
