For Zelda fans and casual manga readers alike!Jan 21, 2009
By José Eduardo Ortega Ríos Volume 2 culminates the story of the manga adaptation of the highly successful videogaming hit, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. If you just like manga, or enjoyed the story of said game, you'll definitely enjoy this book (which, in my opinion, delivers a better plot than the game itself, being a little more complex).
The plot and drawings, by Akira Himekawa, will really absorb you into a tale that does feel like Zelda. For fans of the series, though, it's a must-have.

A different take but awesome nonetheless!Jul 23, 2009
By Ann Foerster I've been a huge fan of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time when I first saw my brother playing it over ten years ago! Whenever I see someone with an N64, I always ask them if they have the game. I actually stumbled upon face details from this manga a very long time ago, thinking they were fan created or something. Turned out it was a doujin (fan-based creation) artist who actually got commissioned to get his take published.
Though the manga strays from the story, or mixes things around, from time to time; it is still truly loyal and even adds some things! The art is fantastic and true to the art style of the game. I just feel like the temples are a little rushed, or the pacing is kinda funny. I truly think this manga would have done better if the writer stretched it over to 3 volumes to give the temples and stuff a little more room.
Anyway, awesome manga! Awesome art! And Zelda!

Excellent addition to an excellent video game storySep 17, 2011
By Riccardo Ocarina of Time has always been one of my favorite video games, along with Majora's Mask, they have to be, hands down, the best games I've ever played. Part of what made me like them so much was their deep story and rich characters. But, being N64 games, the technology wasn't quite there for the developers to be able to tell a complete story with 100% full character development and structure. The cutscenes had to be reduced in order to leave room for actual gameplay; this was great since it left it to the player's imagination to fill in the blanks and connect the dots to make the story complete. What this manga does (along with Majora's Mask's manga) is expand on the game's story and focus on characters instead of fighting/battles. It's a great purchase if you're a fan of both games and I fully recommend it. The drawing are beautiful, taking inspiration from the anime-like style of the games' actual artwork.

This is the second part of the 'Ocarina of Time' manga, and the second volume overall in the Legend of Zelda manga series. If you enjoyed the game 'Ocarina of Time', you will definitely enjoy this. The manga does not follow the game to the letter, but it is a very good adaptation, and for someone who loved the game, I found this to be a very good manga.
A definite must for any Legend of Zelda fan, though I would have liked to see a manga treatment of the old Nintendo games (particularly the first ever LoZ game) since they started off this manga series with a later game. Ocarina of Time was the last LoZ game I ever played, so I have no plans to buy the rest of the manga series, but if you played on, then I am sure you will enjoy the rest if they were adapted as well as the Ocarina of Time.
interest for the nonreadersMar 15, 2011
By ejones310 My son doesn't like to read and he has trouble at it. So I bought the books to help him with that. He loves the books, he takes them to school and on trips to the store. If your kids like zelda then this is a great way to get them off the game and into a book..
