5The Legend of ZeldaNov 21, 2009
The book was an excellent condition and I received it right away. I highly recommend ordering from this source.

4Great Adaptation of a Beloved GameOct 25, 2009
I have always liked the idea of a video game being transformed into some other form of media. Sadly, they don't always turn out great (see the Resident Evil films). You can imagine my delight when I finished this manga for the first time.

Zelda did always seem best as a comic book of some kind. A movie? Keep dreaming, 'cause I doubt it'll ever happen. A novel? Sorry, never liked the Fantasy genre. Music? ... okay, so I'll admit that that stuff is amazing (any soundtrack from any of the games is excellence, even the old ones!). But even still, a comic book is entertaining and captivating at the same time, just like the Zelda games.

This is no exception. Not only is everything adapted perfectly, but even the little twists/changes the author threw in are good enough/minor enough to be accepted.

My only problem is the two different volumes. Not trying to be mean or anything, but I would've loved this as one big comic for me to read through at one time. It's just big enough a problem with me to give this 4 stars instead of 5.

I'm glad I own this and I can't wait 'til I get enough cash to grab the second one.

4Very goodSep 15, 2009
I ordered The Legend of Zelda volume 1&2 and I didn't know if I was going to end up enjoying them as I am a very huge Zelda fan and I have my own vision on what the series should be like.Like the fact that I was going to be reading Link talk but I think that his talking came across very good.So what I'm saying is if your a Zelda fan you should pick the manga series it does not dissapoint.

5The Voice For LinkAug 20, 2009
I bought the first three volumes to this manga, I wasn't expecting it to be very good but rather it being okay. As soon as I started to read it I was very amazed, the writing is supered not for just the characters, but for Link because of his dialogue is very well written, and I love for the deeper knowledge into the background of Shiek. I only wish that the Ocarina of Time story would be expanded, I feel that there could be more in to it.

3Too many liberties taken with story...Jul 22, 2009
First things first; I am not a Legend of Zelda fangirl.

That aside, I've watched friends play this game, and the Ocarina of Time story is both enthralling and beautiful. The comic however, is a bit disappointing.

I understand that the artist probably had to condense the story in order to meet deadlines, but the way that he DID execute the story feels rushed, and a little sloppy.

The artwork isn't the best, and it can be described as "kiddy". Not the best choice in comic genres for a story based on a game geared toward teens and young adults. I was surprised at how mild the comic was, and it makes me hesitate to purchase any of the other comics.

So in short: If you are a major fan, buy it and add it to your collection, but don't set your expectations too high.
