A fantastic retellingFeb 20, 2012
By Natasha McNeely The Legend of Zelda is a video game series that most people know, and many have played at least one game of. Oracle of Ages is one of a pair, with Oracle of Seasons, both of which were made for the GBA.
Much like Oracle of Seasons, this volume has great interpretation of the story and I enjoyed reading and finding out how each character was portrayed. Ralph became one of my favorite characters, but of course, no character can surpass Link.
This volume in particular has a lot of interpretation and the plot from the game became a wonderful story that unfolded in these pages.
I'm always skeptic when it comes to stories that deal with time travel, but this one proved to be one of the few that I could deal with. It shows the consequences, or results, of making changes in the past. That alone gives it bonus points in my opinion, because many time travel stories fail to include that.
Aside from that, the characters were likeable, as well as the story, and unlike other volumes of the Legend of Zelda manga, this one did not feel rushed. Rather, it felt like the pacing was just right.
For that reason, this is the first volume of the Legend of Zelda manga to get five stars, instead of four stars.
Anyone who likes the Legend of Zelda series is sure to enjoy this manga.

"TKD mom"
My daughters love The Legend of Zelda and manga, so this series is perfect for them. I didn't read all the books myself, but they told me there is no bad language or anything racy. The stories have inspired lots of creative play and interest in writing and drawing. The writing is simple enough for my eight year old, but the stories are exciting enough for my 14 year old, too. Thumbs up!
