InterestingOct 30, 2010
By setlib This Vizbig v.6 edition includes "regular" volumes 16-18. Pictured on the cover is Sasaki Kojiro, the deaf mute sword prodigy who will become Miyamoto Musashi's most famous opponent. Encouraged by master swordsman Ito Ittosai to leave his small seaside village, he faces many other swordsmen (including Yoshioka Denshichiro), ending up at the battle of Sekigahara to fight side-by-side with none other than a young Musashi (still known as Takezo at this point). It was a very intriguing way of bringing us back to the events that unfolded right before the beginning of volume 1, but from a different perspective. As always, the complex fight scenes are rendered with a visceral clarity that puts all other manga to shame.
Musashi's NemesisMay 10, 2010
By N. Delong This volume deals mostly with Sasaki's background and his own rise to sword mastery. Artwork is beautiful as usual.
